MuDEV, represents the 21 museums of Empolese Valdelsa, and is available on izi.Travel, This is the audio guide for globe-trotters. It is downloadable on mobile phones and tablets as a simple app. It facilitates guided visits to museums in over 900 cities around the world, and presents Leonardo da Vinci as an endorsement of the System. The idea of being accessible through izi.Travel stems from the intention to fully develop MuDEV’s scientific project, for which, the unique Art Pilgrim Passport ticket was inspired by The Via Francigena Pilgrim Credential.

With izi.Travel you can plan your own tour in the 11 municipalities and 21 museums of the MuDEV in a simple and intuitive way. Through geolocation the app automatically indicates the nearest museum, its relative route and – if previously downloaded – is even available offline. The route is a journey that takes inspiration from one of the great works of a genius from Tuscany, Dante’s Divine Comedy: with Leonardo da Vinci who, as the new Virgilio, crosses Empolese Valdelsa meeting other famous people from these lands. These range from Giovanni Boccaccio, author of the Decameron, to revolutionary painters such as Benozzo Gozzoli and Pontormo, the ceramicist Lorenzo di Piero Sartori, the tenor Amedeo Bassi, Fra Tommaso da Firenze (who had the courage to order the construction of Jerusalem in miniature here in Tuscany), Becuccio Bicchieraio, the patron twice referred to by Vasari in his famous book entitled ‘ Lives’, up to Indro Montanelli, protagonist of the Italian 20th century. Imaginary characters – such as the Arno river and a farmer from the Padule wetlands, and an unnamed hero from the 1944 massacre – all take the floor and tell their story
